How it Works

The Monty Hall problem is a famous probability puzzle based on a game show scenario. Behind one door is a car (the prize), and behind the others are goats.

  1. You pick a door
  2. The host (who knows what's behind each door) opens one of the remaining doors to reveal a goat
  3. You can now choose to stay with your original choice or switch to the other unopened door

Counterintuitively, switching doubles your chances of winning! With 3 doors, staying gives you a 1/3 chance of winning, while switching gives you a 2/3 chance.
